Steps to Take for Suspected Fraud
If You Suspect Fraud While We’re Closed
Act immediately. Do not wait until we reopen.
- Lock Your Card
- Log into our IH Access App and lock/freeze your debit or credit card.
- If you see fraudulent transactions that are pending or have posted to your account, you can complete the lost/stolen report through IH Access app or by calling the Credit Or Debit Card 24/7 support lines on our website.
- Secure Your Login
- Change your online banking password immediately.
- Change your email password (especially if it’s linked to your account).
- Turn on multi-factor authentication (MFA) if it isn’t already enabled.
- Review Your Transactions
- Look for unauthorized charges. You can dispute charges through the IH access app or by calling the 24/7 debit or credit card support lines on our website.
- Write down or screenshot the date, amount, and merchant name of all unauthorized transactions.
- Turn On Alerts
- Enable transaction alerts.
- Enable balance and login alerts.
- Contact Merchants (If Needed)
If a suspicious debit card purchase is still pending, contact the merchant immediately to attempt cancellation.
When the CU reopens:
Contact us as soon as possible to:
- Replace your card
- File a fraud dispute
- Review your account for additional protection steps that may need to be taken.
